How Brokers Get Paid

For typical residential mortgages that are usually funded through an A lender including a bank, credit line, monoline and insurance company the lender will pay us a finder’s fee, therefore we won’t need to charge the client a fee. If the loan is under 200,000, then a small fee may be required. For B deals that are usually funded through trust companies, credit unions and private lenders, fees will be charged because we are not compensated by the lender. For commercial deals fees are charged, and in some instances the fee can be added to the rate.
